Our Mission

Crisis Response Ministry and the Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association have teamed up with the Grand Prairie Police Department to host a free family fun event.  Touch A Truck Grand Prairie is designed to allow citizens of all ages to come together to meet law enforcement in a safe and entertaining setting.  Kids of all ages will have the chance to explore police vehicles as well as semi-trucks, tow trucks, construction equipment and much more.  Proceeds from donations and sponsorships will be divided upon the Law Enforcement Torch Run For Special Olympics, Crisis Response Ministry and Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.

National Faith & Blue Weekend

National Faith & Blue Weekend (Faith & Blue) is a collaborative initiative that builds bridges and reduces biases by facilitating engagement between law enforcement professionals and the communities they serve. Research has shown that non-enforcement engagement of officers and residents is transformative to safety and inclusion.

Over a four-day weekend each year, Faith & Blue consists of thousands of locally organized events in all 50 states. These activities include community forums, service projects, unity marches, and hundreds of other initiatives that bring the community together in the spirit of reconciliation.

Crisis Response Ministry

We exist to minister to our neighbors as an extension of God’s own love and compassion. In times of crisis, we are prepared and readily step forward to comfort others with the comfort we also have received.  CRM trains volunteers and coordinates opportunities to help those in crisis.  CRM deploys a team of crisis-trained volunteers in areas of disaster as well as personal crisis.  By providing physical, emotional and spiritual care - and partnering with other crisis and disaster-focused organizations - we exponentially increase the reach and effectiveness of government agencies.  Please visit CrisisResponseMinistry.org for more information on Crisis Response Ministry or to volunteer.

Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association

The Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is a non-profit voluntary organization of interested CPA graduates who join to promote and improve community relations, increase community involvement, and assist and support the Grand Prairie Police Department.  Our members have a high level of community involvement, including donating funds to purchase water for officers during the summer months, making incidental purchases as well as promoting the department and its programs at commUNITY events. We support our police officers and staff by hosting the Grand Prairie Police Department’s Annual Awards Banquet. Some of our members also volunteer for the police department in other capacities such as Citizens On Patrol, Volunteers In Police Service and Special Event Volunteers.  Please visit GPCPAAA.org for more information on the Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association or to sign up for the Citizens Police Academy.
